top marks for engineering graduates

The offering of Murdoch’s Engineering course at the main campus at South Street will enable students to undertake a broader degree education incorporating engineering and sciences.

A quality Engineering Program has been run at Murdoch’s Rockingham campus since it was established 10 years ago, recording employment for 100 per cent of its graduates.

“We pride ourselves on producing engineering graduates who are highly employable and fitted for industry,” said Executive Dean for the Division of Science and Engineering, Professor Yianni Attikiouzel.

“Our graduates are in great demand and are highly sought after in WA and interstate. Many receive offers of employment even before they graduate.”

“We offer courses that are relevant in today's competitive and ever changing job market. We have strong links with industry, business and government and monitor closely the requirements they need for well qualified and work-ready employees, and then review the courses that we offer each year accordingly.”

“Our equipment is the best in Australia and our staff of Engineers, who all have PhD qualifications, are committed to helping students develop the skills and knowledge essential for a successful career in engineering.”

The Engineering Program focuses on Electrical and Process Engineering courses that are second to none in WA. Graduates of these fully accredited courses can practice anywhere in the world.

At the South Street campus, students will be able to do a range of double degrees with Engineering taking out a BE degree together with other undergraduate qualifications such as Science, Commerce or Law. Across Australia these five-year programs are proving very popular with students who want a broader type of education.

“We plan to expand our engineering offerings as engineering grows at the South Street Campus, including at postgraduate PhD and Masters level.” Professor Attikiouzel said.
