Honorary Degree

An Honorary Degree is an award conferred on a person as a mark of esteem, in recognition of outstanding achievements or contributions in a particular field of endeavour; or in recognition of outstanding contributions to the University or the wider community.

In the case of an Honorary Doctorate, the abbreviation “Hon” distinguishes the award from one earned on through study and research. Previous Murdoch University Honorary Degree recipients can be found on http://handbook.murdoch.edu.au/people/honorary.html

The Honorary Awards and Ceremonial Committee will treat all nominations confidentially.
