Venue and Facilities Hire
General InformationThe University offers attractive facilities for conferences and seminars at reasonable rentals. The two major time periods available are from mid-June to mid-July and from mid-November to late February. In addition, conferences and seminars can be accommodated on all weekends and evenings throughout the year. With a number of lecture theatres with capacities from 70 to 400, and an additional amount of tutorial rooms, Murdoch University can provide facilities for most sizes and complexities. A full range of audio visual equipment is available. Venues and PricesLecture TheatresAll lecture theatres are wheelchair accessible. Seminar RoomsIn addition to the lecture theatres listed above, there are approximately 43
seminar/tutorial rooms with capacities ranging from 15 - 70. The rooms are ideal
for break out sessions and smaller seminars
The larger rooms also contain TV/VCR, computer projectors and screens as standard equipment.
All seminar rooms are wheelchair accessible. Gardens
Worship Centre (for weddings and memorials)Includes Main Area (120 chairs), Common Room (25 chairs), Vestry, Kitchen. Includes Piano and Public Address System with CD/Audio cassette player, the Electric Piano consists of 7 octaves and requires a cord to be collected from the Room Booking Office prior to use. It reproduces sounds of Piano, Vibraphone, Electric Piano, Organ, Strings, Chorus and Reverb.
It is a requirement that the main Worship area and Common room be reinstated to their standard set-up configuration upon completion of each of event. Failure to comply will attract a set-up fee which will be deducted from the bond prior to refund. For uses other than weddings or memorials this venue can be hired for

EquipmentLogisticalMurdoch can organise any logistical equipment need for your event. This includes trestle tables and chairs and directional signage. Please note that all logistical requirements are to be lodged the day of application approval. Any requirements a week prior to the event will not be lodged. Audio Visual EquipmentMurdoch provides Audio Video equipment in all lecture theatres and the larger tutorial rooms. The rooms are provided with standard projector and screen, sound facilities and microphones, overhead projectors and whiteboards. The smaller rooms are supplied with overheard projectors, screens and whiteboard also. Only authorised personnel are permitted to carry out repairs, maintenance or adjustment to power supply or equipment. Due to the complex nature of audio visual equipment in the Lecture theatres, the use of facilities must be maintained at all times by a technician from Audio Visual Services. This service will be charged at the ruling hourly rate. Please contact Stephen Daymond at AV Loans on 9360 2314 ParkingFree after 5pm weekdays, weekends and University Holidays. Weekday parking is available in the visitors (TICKET) areas: metered $1 per hour, $8 per day or by temporary permit. Parking is strictly prohibited in reserve areas, disabled bays, grassed areas, OR on yellow lines where the presence of vehicles could cause a severe traffic hazard OR where the movement and parking of vehicles conflicts with pedestrian movements and obstructs goods-carrying vehicles, buses, and emergency vehicles. Day passes, Conference passes or reserved bays can be organised through Student services or alternatively by Lindsay Hunt (ph 9360 6176). SecurityTo maintain building security, rooms will be opened by Security Officers at the time for which a room has been booked. The room will remain unlocked for 5 minutes and will then be locked again if no-one has arrived to take up the booking. To gain access you will then need to contact the Security Officer on the intercom system and then wait for them to come back and unlock for you. When you have finished, where possible, close and lock doors to keep out intruders.
