Events and Sponsorships

The Events and Sponsorships team is responsible for coordinating many of the University’s public relations activities including sponsorships and corporate events.

Some of the events coordinated include:

At the end of each year a Calendar of Events is established for the following year. The Calendar is a work in progress and new events are added throughout the year.

If you are planning an event and would like assistance it is best to discuss your plans with us as soon as possible. Clients are responsible for providing the Office with a relevant guest list. To request assistance please fill out the Events Request Form (PDF) and email it to Sally Browne at S.Browne@murdoch.edu.au.

Event Announcements

To assist in the promotion and exposure of events related activity taking place on or around Murdoch University’s three campuses, a weekly announcement is emailed to all staff, students and key contact groups to assist with promoting and generating interest in the events.

The events announcement will capture both current events ie; for the coming week and future events ie: events taking place one month in advance.

If you have an event related message that you would like sent, please complete this Event Announcement Request Form (doc) and email by Thursday close of business to Ms Lindsay Hunt – l.hunt@murdoch.edu.au

Event Announcements will be sent on Friday afternoon for events taking place the following week.

Name Badges

Contact this Office for staff name badges providing details for badge; Name, Title, Section/School etc. Please specify clip or magnetic fastener and provide an Account Code for costs. Badges are approximately $14 to $15 each.

Sponsorships

The Office manages the University's external and internal sponsorships.

Each year the University receives hundreds of requests to provide sponsorship.

In determining which sponsorships the University will align itself with, consideration will be given to the University’s strategic plan, which sets out the University’s goals and priorities. This document is used to assess the capacity by which the specific sponsorship will assist and underpin the overall University plan.

The University operates on a financial year that runs from January to December. Accordingly sponsorship requests must be submitted prior to September 1 in order to allow evaluation and then inclusion in submissions for funding as part of the University budget in the following year.

Professional Development Scholarships

Murdoch University is proud to support a new professional development scholarship funded by the Perth Convention Bureau exclusively for Murdoch staff members. This is an exciting venture which will enable two staff to attend an international conference or further their study, with full funding from the Perth Convention Bureau.
