Paper Works highlights and reflects on Murdoch University Art Collection’s significant holdings of artwork incorporating paper as a medium. This is an important theme which has remained a continuing acquisition feature since the Collection’s inception in 1975.

This exhibition comprises of artworks in a wide range of mediums which can be categorized under this premise. These include watercolour, drawing, painting, collage, editioned prints as well as mixed media works. 

Equally diverse is the cross section of Australian artists highlighted through the exhibition. The artists showcased are both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, local and national, emerging and established.

The range of artwork presented in Paper Works allows the viewer the opportunity to discover exciting variations of paper based artwork while showcasing a diverse range of styles and techniques.

Exhibiting artists include John Beard, Marion Borgelt, Janangoo Butcher Cherel, Susan Flavell, Thomas Hoareau, Leith Jansen, Tony Jones, Raelene Kerinauia, Pantjiti Mary Mc Lean, Laurel Nannup, Janis Nedela, Trina O’Hara, Trevor Richards, Glen Skein, Conrad Tipungwuti, Rick Vermey, Karl Wiebke and Cecile Williams.
