Brian BLANCHFLOWER

born 1939, Brighton, United Kingdom
lives and works in Bedforddale, Western Australia

Although to most spectators Blanchflower’s paintings may appear purely abstract, his artworks are recurrently stimulated by the natural world. Blanchflower is an ardent explorer of Western Australia, particularly the remote outback. This connection with tangible encounters and experiences conveys a feeling of weight and authenticity to his work.

He has a knowledgeable and investigative inquisitiveness in the scientific ideologies that govern the cosmos and is equally fascinated by the histories and legends that influence our perceptions and reactions to the environment.
